Born in Texas and raised in Virginia, I earned a B.A. in art history from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, and an M.A. in art history from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
I am a member of the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts. An avid reader of books and collector of music on vinyl, I live with my husband and our rescue dogs in Northern Virginia.
Artist Statement
I am an award-winning artist and illustrator working primarily in 2-D media —including drawing, painting, calligraphy, and collage — exploring the interplay of texture, color, and light, in order to elicit heightened emotional reactions.
I’m particularly interested in themes of memory, mortality, nature, and dreams. I
believe art has the power to inject positivity into the lives of viewers, but also
hope that my work can challenge the audience to question their perceptions of
reality and the present, finding the fantastic in everyday life.
